kids act black because it is the easiest way to get attention.thank god the kids you speak about have the opportunity to grow up and stop acting black.
Well I think it's people like you that is very ignorant to the fact that you would think that african americans are below the white race. Why is that so many of the white lawer's , doctor's kids and probably your child as well try to be so much like the blacks. I think we as black people are very educated but it's people like you that is quick to judge and belittle the black race. Its just that they keep everything that goes on in Westbrook, Kelly and in the Westend hush hush and jump for every opportunity to advertise what goes on wrong in the black schools and neighborhoods.
Speaking about ignorant, did you even read my post? Where is it that I made any judgment about anyone?
I just pointed out that you can make a political argument out of any issue, according to which side you are looking from.
You said that I am "quick to judge and belittle the black race". Huh?
Please point out any comments that I made that said anything belittling any race. Talk about quick to judge. You are just looking for an argument when none exists and determined to stir it up if you can't find it.
You need to go look in the mirror when you are speaking of quick to judge and thinking people are ignorant of facts.

Regarding "racism", I think it's funny that when a black asst principal asks for all black males to move to the front of the room, it's called being concerned for their education.
Anyone want to propose what the reaction would be if a white asst. principal asked that all black males move to the front of the room?
.. or if a white assistant principal asked white males to move to the front. Then it would be racism by trying to get the white kids closer so they could learn more. You are correct that racism is whatever someone wants it to be to fit the side of the argument that the person is on. For political purposes, it is damned if you do and damned if you don't. Go figure.

I think some people need to pull their heads out of the sand. Any white parent in Beaumont KNOWS that there are only a handful of schools that you are going to send your child to. THat is why the west end is so overcrowded because we are all trying to get our kids in a certain school. Marshall Middle school for example brings in Regina and Sallie Curtis. 2 elementary schools that parents want their kids in. And then another school that comes from the "black" part of town. Want to take a guess as to who the trouble makers are? You can deny it all you want but most blacks are "different" then white people. And white people don't want to be around them. Their loud, obnoxious, can't wear clothes properly, speak properly and then everyone stands around with their fingers up their noses wondering "gee why are all the "black" school failing?" Schools and teachers are not to blame, it's the whole black community you need to blame. They take no personal responsibility for themselves. Just look around. Go to the north end and south end of beaumont. Go the the neighborhoods that USED to be white and see what kind of state they are in now.
" Owning" How about responsibility for our young people, Mom and Dad where are you in the evening, how about your children where are they??? Our children are our greatest assets in life. Teach them respect for their elders, teachers, Pastor, the local grocer attended, people in general, teach morles so babies aren't having babies, teach them to own the only thing all of us can own "our selves". Take back your communities and get thugs away from your children. Men take back your home, be in your home, don't make children and then abandom them. Stand up and be accountable. Put church in their lives and put God 1st in all they do and in all you do. There is good and bad in all races. Black people don't corner the market on badness. So, quit dewelling on it and do something good for your family every day. Encourage your family to pray and to live in Gods word. There is lots to own if you so choose to.
If we don't talk about it blacks will continue to never own what is rightfully ours. We helped to build this country yet we own nothing. We are extremely inteligent but are not the majority of teachers. Why? Until Black America starts to stand up for Black America we will never get to the point of equality.
What is it that is rightfully yours that you are being denied?
When you say "we", I am assuming that you are talking about black citizens. If blacks make up 12% of this country (roughly 1 out of every 9 people) why do you think there should be anywhere near a majority of teachers that are black?
I currently live in Omaha,NE and what I actually think is stupid is how as a country, the people that are not affected by racism are always the ones who don't want to talk about it. I was raised in Beaumont, Tx and there were many things that were not right about the way blacks were treated. I just did not know any better until I started to educate myself. If we don't talk about it blacks will continue to never own what is rightfully ours. We helped to build this country yet we own nothing. well,my experience with black people, started when I was in 7th Grade. Blacks were forced to go to our school,(integration,in the 60's) We all lined up on the sidewalk as our fellow black students got off the bus...I cried I thought how sad for them, how scared they must be...But there was no violence, no one blocked the school door and wouldn't let them in. We quickly accepted everyone as just classmates. Most of them made much better grades then I,but I wasn't mad,I was in awe. I had always been taught that blacks were ignorant, obviously not. Those classmates graduated with me in the 70's,most in the top % of their class, and probably went on to great things. But you know what was sad not one came to our class reunioun....I guess it wasn't a great time for them.
It's posts like this that keeps racial division going. Why do you care what people think about "black people" anyway? Different people have problems with different races for one reason or another. First of all why single out the black race, why not whites or mexicans etc. If you can't help the world just shut up and stop trying to hurt it more then it already is.
