Our schools are failing. Our courtrooms are famously corrupt. Our environment is poisoned and dangerous. Violent crime is out of control. The population is decreasing. My slogan is " Beaumont why would any reasonable person come visit?"

"The Reicht Place to Be"
Although we live here we have no voice in what happens, but we're never told what is really going on anyway. Apparently the city officials think that we're too stupid to make decisions and/or actively try to deny us a vote if they think that we might vote differently from their private, (and possibly private money-making), agendas.

I drove throught Beaumont last week on my way to Houston.....here's my suggestion for a new slogan :

Beaumont.....it's not beautiful and there are no mountains as the name implies...but we do have lots of petro chemical eyesores, massive air pollution and a highly repressed, improverished minority population for your enjoyment and observation.

Beaumont, a highly segregated town that calls itself a city, that is known for its air/water pollution, humidity, population loss and hurricanes.

Try reality :

Beaumont is on its way to sporting a new slogan after City Council unanimously approved a contract launching an extensive research process to determine a slogan that will best characterize the area and accentuate Beaumont's strengths.
