Racial Profiling in Southeast Texas

I really think this is rediculous for anyone to be so stupid to think that racial profiling does not exist. I am in the law field and I fight everyday to minimize this problem. I will say this again, if are white you will never know what it feels like to be victimized because of your color. I know that there are different forms of prejudice, but you will never be able to say to a black person that what we are saying is not justified. I suggest you look at the true facts instaed of what you all choose to believe. I hope minorities start sticking up for yourselves and stop thinking that we have overcome just because we are exercising our civil rights. Think about what you say people before you say it. Don't be so closed minded. We can and will do everything that you are able to do and better!!!

Is that racism??? And I have been stopped on a few occasions by a
black officer, does that make him a racist? NO!

Yes, I was stopped and given a ticket for speeding doing 45 in a 35. I really didn't think I was doing 45 and there were no signs that said the speed limit was 45. The speed limit that I turn off of was 45. The bad thing is when you are black and are stopped by a policeman, you can't dispute anything because you are putting your life in danger. They have a way of saying shut up, take the ticket, or I will shoot you. I know this is sad but sometimes I feel that I have a better chances with getting carjack than I have with getting stopped by policeman.

That is comical. I didn't know so many blacks were being gunned down in the streets of Beaumont by the police. Maybe I need to read the Enterprise more often and keep up with all of these killings.

I'm so sick and tired of hearing about all of this "racial" crap!!!  Can't everybody just get over it and move on.  If you don't want to get pulled over, don't break the law - it's that simple!

So if you are speeding (i.e. 45 in a 35) and get a ticket, it's racism?  Give me a break.

If I, as a white male, do 45 in a 35, I won't get a ticket?  WRONG.  It happened on Calder and I paid the ticket.

I was at a Market Basket the other day.  The checker was speaking Spanish with the lady in front of me.  When she paid and left the checker turned to me and said "Hi, how are you?"  Why didn't she speak Spanish to me??? Did I "look" like a certain race, so she "assumed" I spoke English?  Isn't that profiling?

Geez, some people use anything to get out of responsibility.  If you speed, you deserve the ticket.  Don't speed and you won't get pulled over.

Minority drivers in some Southeast Texas cities were searched more often than whites, a new study indicates.

Authorities say numbers don't tell whole story.
