RE: Elderly Drivers

definitely! I feel sorry for the elderly trying to get around on these streets,I'm in my 50's and find it challenging. But I also had a mother who passed her eye
exam... in her 80's.I still think she memorized it,against her dr.'s wishes, she drove, until she kept running into people.and we told her she could not drive
anymore.period.Elderly past 70,don't seem as quick to respond to certain
things that can happen in traffic. I don't think my opinion is gonna change
anything.

Yes, the elderly should be reevaluated for driving tests.

The Texas House and Senate both passed bills dealing with the topic of elderly drivers on Wednesday.
Senate Bill 180 would require 79-year olds to renew their drivers licenses and to take a vision test. The bill, which passed unanimously, would also institute an evaluation at the age of 85 to see if a driver would have to take a driving test for a new license.
The less-stringent House Bill 84 would not require an eye exam until the age 90 and says nothing about a driving test.

We want to know what you think.

Should the elderly be forced to have their driving ability re-evaluated?
